Works on investigation of Albanian monuments continue.

It is well known, that for the last time an investigation of history and culture of Azerbaijan acquired great sense. In this connection increases the role of joint Azerbaijan-Norwegian project "Kish", devoted to investigation and restoration of one of the most important monuments of Albanian architecture of Azerbaijan - church in Kish settlement in Sheki region of our country. This summer was successfully completed first stage of investigation jobs within the framework of project "Kish". This stage included full discovery of the monument and attached territory, and also detailed archaelogical and architectural study of monument. With this purpose was carried out archaelogical and architectural summer expeditions by heading employees of Azerbaijanian Academy of Sciences and Azerbaijan Architectural - Construction University on the Azerbaijanian side and prominent Norwegian scientists. During archaeological expedition were carried out excavations inside and outside of church, revealed some cultural layers, relted to different centuries. There were discovered ceramic details and elements of church utensils spectral analysis of which will allow to date the church more precisely architectural expedition allowed to take dimensions of monument, necessary for further planning of project on church restoration. The detailed photo and video fixation of the monument was done. Besides, for the period of summer expedition we succeded to investigate analogical monuments of Sheki region and enclosed to it Kakh, Zakatal, Oguz regions. As e result there was discovered a range of already investigated, and also not known before in literature of Albanian churches. Investigation of their special features will also make great c9ontribution in process of planning this project on restoration of Kish church. Second stage of jobs considers planning of restoration project. That is why at present materials received during summer expedition are reconsidering.
